Disc Injury

1. Secure the Invertabelt with desired tension levels per instructions
2. Place foot inside the foot harness and extend leg backward maintaining tension on the blue strap
3. Lower yourself down on the bed or maintaining tension on the black strap

Optional:

  • May point ankle up and down for intermittent pumping 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off
  • May hold static positioning of ankle to decrease muscle tone

Appropriate for low back pain that increases in sitting and or an individual that experiences pain relief in a standing position.

How it works: Designed to provide distraction off the intervertebral disc.  Appropriate for internal disc disruption, disc bulge, and disc herniation.  Static pressure is appropriate for decreasing muscle tone.  Intermittent ankle pumping allows for “on and off” pressure appropriate for disc injuries

REPS: 2-10 minutes, 1-2 times a day

Typical Symptom Response:

  • Positive: Relaxation of muscles, possible increase pain or pressure in the center of the spine. If any pain is perceived in the leg, the pain will move up the leg and towards the low back
  • Negative: Area of pain becomes larger in diameter or moves into the buttocks or leg.

Appropriate for patients with internal disc disruption, disc bulge, and disc herniation.
